FAQs

What goes into supplying an estimate?

Every piece of furniture is unique and requires a personalized estimate. I structure my estimates around 3 conditions: Measurements, structural integrity/performance, and required labor/time.

1. I start with the basic furniture measurements. I ask clients to provide general Height, Width, and Depth.

2. I assess the integrity, condition, and detail of the furniture. How does the furniture feel? Will the foam and padding need to be replaced? Is there tufting, buttons, and other fine detail work? Are there any structural repairs that need to be addressed?

3. I provide an estimate of my time, labor, and other material cost. This estimate will vary based on (1) the size of the furniture piece and (2) the integrity, condition, and detailing of the furniture piece. Some projects take a few days to a week while other projects can take up to 2-3 weeks.

What about fabric?

For every project, I ask clients to provide their own fabric. However, I am more than happy to guide you through the design and selection process. I can provide a list of online and local fabric stores to get you started, as well as recommend fabrics to suit your needs. Fabric can be delivered to my private workshop address or dropped off with your furniture. *In some cases, I can provide fabric for you.

How can I get my furniture to you?

I prefer that clients drop off their furniture at my private workshop in downtown Media, PA. In some cases, I can arrange pickup/drop off service for an extra charge.

How does payment work?

Payment is required at pickup. I accept cash, check, or Venmo made out to Autumn Lafferty Upholstery.

Where is your workshop located?

I work out of a small private studio in downtown Media, PA. I only provide my address to current clients.
